THE PLACE OF EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP
Goodlife asked:
The place of “the divine” cannot be over emphasised, in particular it is commonly said that prayer is the key to any situation.
It is in recognition of this truth that the incumbent Government of Delta state under the leadership of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan in the last one year has kept a tradition of holding a monthly night vigil in order to maintain peace, stability and progress in the state.
This month’s edition was held last Friday at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba with the theme “Anointing for Excellence in Leadership”.
Speaking at the prayer session, the Guest speaker Rev, Dr Tunde Joda (Senior Pastor Christ Chapel Int. Churches) enumerated the qualities of a leader as discipline, vision, wisdom, decisiveness, fortitude/courage, humility, endurance, fellowship, discretion, mentorship and a sense of humour.
He further maintained that leaders are not born , but developed, while faithfulness in natural things will bring supernatural promotion.
Rev, Dr Tunde Joda, therefore urged everyone never to loose sight of focus and purpose as these two factors will lead anyone to a fulfilled life.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Governor of Delta State Prof. Otuama, described the message as very relevant to the three point agenda of the state government in order to improve development in the state.
Describing discipline as the source of strength, he also urged all Delta state indigenes to take seriously the leadership points highlighted by the Speaker and further assured that the best of Delta state is yet to come.
The Deputy Governor also promised to recommend the highlighted leadership qualities to the Governor who was absent due to official reason.
In his vote of thanks, the Special Adviser to the government on Religious matters Rev G. Agbuduta thanked everyone that made the programme, and also prayed that the revelation knowledge gained at the programme will make more impart in the lives of all Deltalites.
The all night programme ended with a benediction said by the State C.A.N Chairman, Archbishop G.Avwomakpa.
Present, were Commissioners, Government Special Advisers, other top Government officials and Ministers of God from various churches.
Highlights of the vigil include music rendered by different choirs, as well as prayers for Delta State.
